Many Red Planet Dust posts contain links to – in my view – very interesting articles and video’s from all over the web. Most of the times I only link to them supporting what is stipulated in the RPD blog entry. The artcicles are not getting the proper attention they deserve. The majority of these articles are “flipped” to the Rad Planet Dust magazine at Flipboard. (tablet and smartphone app). With this regularly returning blogpost I will list the articles used in RDP posts and cross publish articles I have flipped at Fliboard for your enjoyment. I will categorise them per RPD post:
RPD Blogpost: “Destructing the tower of Babel: Translation tools like Bing translator are examples of increasing collaborability
RPD blogpost: The interconnected world brings good as well as bad….
- Revealed: NSA collecting phone records of millions of Americans daily by The Guardian. The original Guardian article sparking of the frenzy about the PRISM banquet surveillance of all.
- Metadata matters: how phone records and obsolete laws harm privacy and the free press by the The Verge. Bending words in justifying PRISM. Nicely explained by The verge on the use of the word META DATA.
- [VIDEO] “>The CIA’s Grand Challenges with Big Data via YouTube. Must view for those who do not have the time to read Al Gore’s book “The future” which gives us a overview of all mega trends that are shaping our world today I can recommend to spend 30 minutes on this video. CIA’s TCO explains in fast pace how they are looking at some of the mega trends.
RPD blogpost:Bitcoins’ anarchistic character will be pounded into line by real world regulations
- Finextra: Bitcoin exchange MT. Gox introduces account verification by Finextra. Very nice example of how Bitcoin is being reeled in to regulatory space, even with giving up anonymity for its users…
- Google Buys a Quantum Computer by NYtimes. Mind boggling computer power in the hands of Google..
- Why 3D Printing Is Overhyped (I Should Know, I Do It For a Living) by Gizmodo. To put you firmly on the ground with two feed on the 3d printer hype by somebody that really knows what he is talking about. Opions are less relevant then knowledge.
- Robots will take our jobs, but it’s hard to say when by QZ. Robosourcing has been a main item here at RPD.
- The Internet of Things: In action by The next Web. Mega trends: the internet of things is closing in on us…
- Why won’t Bitcoin die? by the Verge. Nice read-up on Bitcoin and its possible future.
- New IBM project puts Watson to work in customer service by the Verge. Robosourcing is getting bigger and bigger. Watson wining “Jeopardy” seems fun but how if it will just take over millions of jobs?
- The Power Of Data Exhaust by TechCruch. You need not much data to know what is going on… (combine this what is said in CIA video above)
RPD blogpost:Shocker: I Find Google Much More Interesting Then Apple!
